A deep and persistent minority achievement gap is one of the most urgent problems facing Boston Public Schools. Too many BPS students fall off track, fail to graduate on time, or lack sufficient preparation to take their next steps after high school. We focus on elevating innovative strategies to improve equity and address slowing achievement trends among BPS schools to close the achievement gap for students across the city.

These disparities in outcomes are the direct result of inequities in opportunity, both outside and inside the school system. Students cannot reach their full potential when they lack access to nutritious food, a safe home environment, or support for their social and behavioral needs. The core of our education focus is -ensuring students’ ability to learn, grow, and advance in their education from K-12 and beyond.
