The Trefler Foundation is committed to advancing innovative and ground-breaking research coupled with compassionate patient care at the MGH Cancer Center. The Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of the Cancer Center, especially of its gastrointestinal cancer research initiatives. One key result of the Foundation’s funding has been the establishment of the Customized Cancer Care Platform for Gastrointestinal Cancers. Likewise, the Foundation has funded the Gastrointestinal Clinical Fellowship Research Program, which expands the Cancer Center’s capacity to develop new approaches to combat this disease and enhance the quality of patients’ lives. The Foundation also has been a committed supporter of the Friends of the MGH Cancer Center, whose volunteers help to raise funds to provide palliative care as a component of whole-person treatment and healing.
