Bridging the Gap: A Conversation on Cancer Equity

We were honored to welcome so many of you to the Trefler Foundation’s second annual salon luncheon, Bridging the Gap: A Conversation on Cancer Equity. This gathering brought together leaders, advocates, and community members who are deeply committed to addressing disparities in cancer care—and working toward a more equitable future for all.

Cancer equity is a complex challenge, both locally and nationally. But at the Trefler Foundation, we believe that meaningful change begins with dialogue, connection, and a shared commitment to action. Your presence at the luncheon was a powerful reminder that change is possible when we come together.

We are especially grateful to our distinguished speakers, who generously shared their insights and personal dedication to this cause:

Dr. Beverly Moy, Director of Cancer Equity, Mass General Hospital

Dr. Charles L. Anderson, President & CEO, The Dimock Center

Michael Curry, Esq., President & CEO, Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers

Meredith Mendelson, Executive Director, The Ellie Fund

Each of our speakers brought a unique perspective to the conversation—rooted in both professional expertise and personal commitment. Their insights illuminated the many layers of cancer equity, from the structural barriers that persist to the community-driven solutions making a difference every day.

As we reflect on the luncheon, we’re reminded that progress happens not in isolation, but through shared purpose and sustained dialogue. It was a privilege to be in the company of so many who care deeply about this work.

We look forward to continuing the journey together.
